Welcome to Orange County Neurofeedback Center

Neurotherapies are medication-free treatment options that allow us to train an individual’s brain to achieve a healthier pattern of functioning. We treat a variety of conditions including ADHD/ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, stress, insomnia, and depression. For more information, contact us for a free consultation.

What We Treat

How Does Neurotherapy Work?

Neurotherapy contains multiple modalities of treatment, including neurofeedback, biofeedback, and neuromodulation. While medications and other therapies typically only work to help control an individual’s symptoms, neurotherapies go directly to the source and target the underlying cause of the symptoms themselves. Neurons in the brain produce electrical impulses at varying speeds that dictate all aspects of brain function. However, when the speeds or communication channels of these neurons become imbalanced or dysregulated, they can produce a variety of symptoms depending on the region of the brain where the imbalance is occurring. Neurotherapy is a process in which the neurons of the brain are trained to function and communicate in more adaptive ways in order to alleviate symptoms and improve performance. Furthermore, by utilizing the brain’s natural neuroplasticity, neurotherapy can achieve long-lasting symptom improvement without the need for additional maintenance or boosters.

Evidence from over 165,000 published studies, published over the last 50 years, attest to the effectiveness of Neurofeedback to improve symptoms related to everything from anxiety, ADHD, memory decline, insomnia, mood disorders, depression and anger issues, to PTSD, brain injury, panic, autism spectrum, concussion, seizure and stroke.

Treatment Modalities

qEEG Brain Mapping “maps” the electrical activity of the brain and is used to identify the maladaptive patterns that contribute to an individual’s symptoms

Neurofeedback uses operant conditioning to train the neurons to fire and communicate in patterns that are more adaptive, thus alleviating symptoms

Neuromodulation utilizes stimulation technology to guide the brain towards healthier patterns of functioning in order to improve symptoms

Biofeedback treats anxiety and stress by teaching the mind and body to let go of the brain’s “fight or flight” response, giving the individual more control over their anxiety
